Amanda Helen “Mandy” Thomas, 30, of Wiggins, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 in Wiggins.
She was born, with her twin sister Mindy, on August 18, 1981 in Fort Morgan to Ellwyn and Wilma Cochran.
She was educated in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 2000. While in school she was active in band, cheerleading and drama. After graduating high school she attended Morgan Community College and the Institute of Business and Medical Careers. She obtained her Certified Nurses Assistant certification, and had a love of helping others. Mandy also dedicated herself to helping her father while he was ill, and giving him loving care in her own home, while still raising her family.
Mandy married Ryan Thomas in Fort Morgan on August 26th, 2006, and had resided in Wiggins since then.
She enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, and spending time at the lake with family and friends. She also had a passion for music, and enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a gifted vocalist, and was able to make many people’s day brighter with her voice. She was also a loving mother, wife, sister and friend. She had previously been a Wrangler with the Greeley Independence Stampede, and sang in many community choirs.
Mandy is survived by her husband Ryan, and children Alec, Reagan, Ryder and Radley, all of Wiggins. She is also survived by her brother Brice, and wife Lynn and their children Shelby and Clay, of Windsor, her sister Angie Echols and husband Doug and their daughter Haley, of Farmington, N.M. and her sister Mindy and fiancée Logan, and their son Tate, of Aztec, N.M., and Rhonda and Sydney Cochran of Meeker, CO. She is also survived by many close friends, and a loving, extended family.
She was preceded in death by her mother Wilma, father Ellwyn and brother Randall, and many friends and family members.
Visitation will be Thursday January 5th from 7-9PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
Services for Mandy will be held on Friday, January 6th at 1:30PM at the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan, CO with graveside services immediately following in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
Memorial contributions may be made for the education of her children payable to the Amanda Thomas Memorial, in care of Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
