Obituary

Albert Canales, Jr., 69, lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.

He was born October 24, 1949 in Fort Morgan to Alberto & Carmen (Rocha) Canales. Albert graduated from Fort Morgan High School. In 1972 he married Patricia Sanders and together they raised three daughters. Albert and Pat later divorced.

Albert worked as a mechanic for Buick Chevrolet as a young man before beginning his 25-year career as an Operator with Schlumberger. In 1999 Albert started Canales Trucking which he did until 2007.

Albert was a member of the B.P.O.E. #1143, Fort Morgan. He especially enjoyed being on the road in his truck. Albert also enjoyed going fishing and he loved taking care of animals, especially his horses.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Canales (Brett Irey), Kayla (Brent) Babkiewich, and Ann (Eric) Hale; his grandchildren, Kortney Hale, Nash Babkiewich, Kade Babkiewich, and Ashton Hale; his sister, Delores Jimenez; and his niece, Felicia Tellez.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; and his nephew, Gabriel Jimenez.

At Albert's request, cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan on Tuesday, November 27 th at 2:30 PM.
