Albert English, 88 years old, Cattle feeder and Farmer. Albert "Al" English passed away at his home, Saturday December 3 with all of his family present. Albert was born to Lyster and Edna English in Greeley, CO on October 28,1923. He graduated from Greeley High and then attended the University of Colorado at Boulder with the intent of a law degree. But after Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 he joined the Army Air Force and served as a radar counter measures specialist. His time was spent in the islands of the South Pacific war theater. He was on hand in Tokyo for the surrender of the Japanese government. On his return home, after the war, he and a partner built a car dealership in Fort Lupton, CO. During this time, he met and married Margie (Midge) Eaton on December 28, 1947. After their marriage, he and Midge came to Wiggins, CO to farm and co-founded English Feedlot Inc and associated companies. He was involved daily with the business as a consultant and advisor until his death. He served on many boards in the community and the state and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Fort Morgan. He was also a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Midge, and two sisters Ruth English Timothy, and Marion English Deering and is survived by his oldest sister, Vivian English Hines of Lakewood. Also survived by his son, Doug and wife Tana of Wiggins, daughter Vicki Lehrer and husband, Earl of Fort Morgan; grandson Scott English and wife, Sara and great granddaughter, Alexis of Wiggins; granddaughter Sabrina English Binkley and husband, Ryan and two great grandsons, Simon and Clive of Fairbanks, Alaska; step granddaughter Melinda Lehrer Knipe and husband, Ryan. Also many nieces and nephews. The family also recognizes long time care giver, Barsha Daily of Sterling, CO and Carolyn Mares of Fort Morgan. Memorials in Albert English's name may be sent to Colorado Plains Medical Center, or Fort Morgan Heritage Museum or an organization of your choice. The family plans to have a Celebration of Life memorial for both Al and Midge on Saturday, January 28, 2012, from 2-5 pm at the Long Meadow Event Center, Wiggins, CO.
