Albert Eugene Pribble        04/10/1947 – 03/19/2024           76 years old

How do I love you …  let me count the ways.  You were a wonderful partner in life, best friend, father, son, son-in-law, brother, neighbor, no matter what, if you saw a need, you just dove right in and gave your all.   You were a man of few words but had a huge heart.  You had such an uncanny ability to look at anything and just figure it out – never read the "how to" instructions to anything, you just started in and finished in record time, and it was always right.  Whenever I would make a request, you would scrunch your face with those famous out of control eyebrows and say, "I don't know if that will work, but I'll try", and no matter how long or how many attempts it took, you made it work.  You never gave yourself credit for your gift in carpentry work, but those of us who were privileged to see it firsthand, were amazed and appreciative of your gift.

You were born in Brush, graduated from Brush High School, graduated from NJC and moved onto CSU before being drafted into the army where you were sent to Vietnam.  This was a turning point in your life and was an experience that would change you forever.  You quickly rose to Staff Sergent and given the responsibility of other lives to protect.  You were injured in battle and later received a Bronze Star for your bravery.  After your physical wounds had healed, you were deployed to Germany where you continued to serve and began to heal your heart.  While you were in Germany, you wrote a letter to me every day, and I still have every one of them, 52 years later.

We were married in the fall of 1972 and 4 days later, you began your career in telecommunications, working for Mountain Bell, AT&T, US West and Quest for the next 36 years. You were very dedicated to your job and always thinking of how you could make something better.  We started a family in 1974 with our first son, Mark, our daughter Kelly was welcomed in 1977 and miracle son Matthew in 1981.

After suffering a heart attack, you celebrated your birthday, retired from work, and had open heart surgery all on the same day.  You were a miracle as you quickly healed and started on the next chapter of your life – Granddaughters!  Oriyana and Isis brought you such joy, from home schooling, learning to ride a bike and even wrecking a car.

You were blessed with a wonderful extended family later in life - they helped to heal your heart and make you whole.  We honor their love and presence in our life: step-mother Dorothy, brothers Doug, Maurice (Linda), Stewart, Darrell, Tim (Jaime) and sister Kimberly.

Those who continue on in your name are wife Chris, sons Mark & Matthew, daughter Kelly, granddaughters Oriyana, Isis, Cora and grandson DeAngelo, brother Terry and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We are grateful you allowed us to be part of your life, to grow with you and to love you.
