Obituary

Albert Wayne Teter was born in Gary, Colorado, June 17, 1939, to Elmer Gale Teter and Virginia Eveline Stickley. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, at his home in Gary, Colorado surrounded by family. He lived a life filled with devotion to family, love, and his work.

Albert married Bonnie Lea (Johnson) Teter on March 22, 1961, in Raton, New Mexico and celebrated more than 60 years of marriage raising a family he took great pride in.

Albert loved farming his land and tending to cattle, pigs, chickens, and crops. He was a committed member of the Elks Club in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He loved to race stock cars surrounded by his Dad and brothers, who were also involved in the racing industry, and many fans cheering him on. Albert worked most of his life in the oilfield with his father and brothers, and later did independent pumper contracting, owning his own business, Albert Teter and Son Vac Truck, with his son, Kurt Teter.

Albert was proud to be a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he enjoyed every step of the journey. He took pride in making some of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as ornery as he was. His strength and positive attitude through everything amazed those around him, and he was often referred to as the strongest person they knew. He continued to demonstrate that strength until the very end. Albert was treasured by his family as quite the character, sharing his love, orneriness, positivity, strength, and outlook on life with everyone around him.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; their children, Rhonda Teter (Mike) Lake, Tera (Kyle) Marick and Brittany Lake. Kurt Teter. Jenny Teter (Lee) Parrish, Jayce and Kaelyn Parrish. Mandy Teter (Felix) Hinojos, Kyler (Mariah) Schantz, Garrett (Madelyn) Schantz, and Brittney Hinojos. Many great-grandchildren including Alaina, Brody, Cashton, Oakleigh, and Dokken.

Siblings; Nancy (Kenny) Pottorff, Gayleen Gilliland, Ginger (Larry) Urbach, Roger (Jan) Teter, Roberta Teter, and Judy (Dennis) Queen. along with many extended family members and friends, who were just like family to Albert, and who will carry his memory with them forever.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Eva Stickley, and Rufus and Sarah Teter; parents, Gale and Virginia; sister, Dorothy Koehler; brothers, Leroy and Doug; brothers-in-law, Herb Koehler and Rich Gilliland; sister-in-law, Bonnie Teter; and nieces, Tammy McCormick and Chris Gerk.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Snyder Bible Church, 22622 Fisher Ave., Snyder, CO. Burial will follow at Walks Camp Methodist Cemetery, north of Limon at 2:30 PM.
