Alberta C. Miller, 87, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. She was born August 1, 1928, in Brush to Arthur & Aster Petersen. Alberta graduated from Snyder High School. On November 17, 1946, she married Dave Miller Jr. in Brush. She was very active in the Brush community, having worked at Safeway, owned a shoe store, and worked at the First Security Bank nka Bank of Colorado. She was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she served as organist for over 30 years. She was also a former member of the Brush Music Club, Morgan County Chorale, and the Brush Garden Club. Alberta & Dave were the first Queen & King of the Octoberfest. Her favorite time was spent with her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Ron of Lafayette, CO, Susan Johnson of Denver, Carol Walker of Hillrose, and Lori Bostron of Brush; 3 sisters, Shirley Schilling of Brush, Wilma Reed of Cheyenne, WY, and Patty Belville of Delta, CO; 1 brother, Arnold Petersen of Torrington, WY; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, Robert Petersen and Eldon Petersen, and her parents. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 25, at 10:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Inurnment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the Music Department.
