Alex Weimer, 84, Life long resident of Ft. Morgan, Died Monday morning at the Colorado Plains Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1923 in Ft. Morgan to Fred G. and Mary Weimer. In 1941 his senior year of high school he entered an oratorical contest witch he finished second in the Nation. He continued to enjoy orating being involved the Elks Lodge, serving locally as Past Exulted Ruler, and as a Trustee and for the State Elks Lodge as Past State Trustee and Past State President. He started farming just out of high school and then Started his own business Alex Weimer Institutional Foods, which he has operated for the past 50 years. Alex married Jean Malone August 15, 1968 in Ft. Morgan. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, shooting pool and most of spending time with his family. Alex is survived by his wife Jean, his children and their families, Sandra Westhoff and husband Jack, and their children Kathy Westhoff, Becky Powell, and Laura West; Tim Weimer and his wife Jeri, and their children Shondel Weimer, April Weimer and Cami Weimer; Rona Ansley and her husband Den and their son Brian Stark; Kevin Malone and his wife Tammie and their children Brian Hoal and Chris Hoal; Deb Malone-Lloyd and her Husband Matt; Tim Malone and his wife Lorrie and their children Kennedy Malone and Dayton Malone; His great grandchildren Korinna, Keenan, and Kory Powell, Abby West and Owen Hoal; One brother Albert Weimer; three sisters, Marie Asmus, Rachel Alderin, and Esther Lough. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Cheryl Weimer, his son Alex Weimer Jr. one great grandson Kaden Powell, one sister Lydia Needens, and Five brothers, George, Jacob, Samuel, David, and Gottfried. A Memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the Christ Congregational Church in Ft. Morgan. A private Inurnment will be held in the Serenity Falls Columbarium. Friends who wish may make memorial donations tot the ELKS National Foundation or to the Laradon Hall,c/o the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary.
