Alice Faye Holzworth

Known as Faye to longtime Fort Morgan residents. Born in the Elgin, Texas to Alfred and Hattie Samuelson on 10/6/1925. She grew up on the family cotton farm.

Faye married Wayne Alfred Waln in June 1944 and settled in Northeastern Colorado spending the early years in Holyoke then Wiggins and finally Fort Morgan in the early 1950's.

Faye spent many years working at the Chicken Inn Restaurant in Fort Morgan while caring for her husband and family. She retired to care for Wayne who passed in 1989.

In 1990 Faye married Carroll Holzworth and they loved to travel within the United States. Carroll passed in 1998.

In 2014 Faye sold her home in Fort Morgan and moved to Plainfield, Indiana to live with her son Randy, due to her declining health. She passed away on July 14, 2018 at the Waters of Greencastle with her family at her side.

Faye had a heart for serving and soul for caring often going out of her way to help someone in need – family, friend or stranger made no difference to her.

Faye is predeceased by her husbands and daughter, Joyce Murphy; survived by her sons Kenneth Waln of Missouri and Randy Waln of Indiana, a sister, Dorothy Arnham of Copeland, TX. Grandchildren including John Murphy and Jeri Lynn Garcia (Fort Collins); Bret Harbin (Lacey, WA); Kenneth Waln, Jr., Lisa Waln and Mathew Waln(Cameron, MO); Patrick Waln and Nicole Waln (Indianapolis, IN).  As well as great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Heer Mortuary, 225 E Platte Ave, Fort Morgan, CO 80701 at 2 p.m. on August 11, 2018.
