Obituary

Allen Floyd Marick entered eternal life to live forever with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at South Platte Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brush, Colorado.

Allen was born on July 22, 1939, in Akron, Colorado, to Clayton and Josephine (Herzberg) Marick. Allen lived south of Akron on a dryland farm where his family raised cattle and wheat. He went to grade school at Harrisburg and Anton and attended Bethel Union Church with his family. At age 15, he moved to Fort Morgan to live with his aunt and uncle so he could attend Fort Morgan High School, where he graduated in 1957. He met his forever sweetheart, Marilyn Wozney, at youth group. They were married on November 1, 1959, at First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan, and they shared sixty-four wonderful years together. The couple lived south of Akron for five years and then moved to Fort Morgan in 1966 to an irrigated farm raising corn and hay. Allen started a dairy in 1969, building the milking parlor in the dead of winter with a space heater for warmth. Allen milked cows and did custom farm work to support his growing family. Allen helped with the formation of Grace Bible Church, where the family faithfully attended every week. He often studied his Sunday school lesson while milking, even verbally practicing his lesson to the cows. After 39 years of milking cows, the dairy herd was sold in August 2008.

No matter friend or stranger, Allen was always helping someone repair a piece of equipment, haul their livestock, or give them gasoline when their car ran out of fuel. Later, the couple attended Snyder Bible Church, where they enjoyed fellowship with new friends and studying God's Word. Allen was a hard worker who loved the Lord and taught his kids to be hard workers and to know Jesus!

Allen is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and his ten children: Annette (Dan) Lebsock of Fort Morgan, CO; Kim (Jeff) Hayward of Pflugerville, TX; Mark (Teena) Marick of Brush, CO; Lisa (Craig) Kroskob of Fort Morgan, CO; Scott (Kathy) Marick of Elmore City, OK; Brenda (Chuck) Gregersen of Wiggins, CO; Bridget Marick and David Curran of Vancouver, WA; Sheila Marick and Terry Foos of Greeley, CO; Brad (Natalee) Marick of Beaufort, SC; Kyle (Tera) Marick of Fort Morgan, CO; his brother, Edgar (Dorothy) Marick of Pilot Point, TX; his sister, Dorothy Smart of Fort Morgan, CO; his sister-in-law, Roxanne Marick of Grover, CO; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Josephine Marick, and his brother, Fred Marick.
