Obituary

ALMA ELIZABETH LINNEBUR, 79, passed away early Friday morning, November 30, 2012 at her home in Roggen. She was born December 29, 1932 in Roggen to Joseph & Magdalena (Eble) Elpers. She attended school in Strasburg and later attended Loretto Heights College in Denver. She married Ivan Joseph Linnebur on June 11, 1955 in Strasburg. They begin their life together, farming and living in the Roggen area. At the time of her death, Alma and Ivan had lived on the same family farm for 57 years. Alma was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roggen where she served on the Altar & Rosary Society and taught CCD for numerous years. She most enjoyed working on the yearly CCD Christmas Program, planning and directing the story of the birth of Jesus. In their later years, Ivan & Alma attended Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wiggins. Alma was also a member of the Jane Jefferson's and she served on the Alumni Board at Loretto Heights College for several years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and helping with church activities. She was a woman of great faith, known by her family for her dedicated prayer life. Her dedication to the Blessed Mother and the Sacred Heart of Jesus was known to all who knew her. Alma is survived by her husband, Ivan Linnebur of Roggen; four children, Diane Sauter and her husband, Tom of Bennett, Patricia Musgrave and her husband, Jim of Wiggins, Beth Gerkin and her husband, Rick of Eaton, and Joseph Linnebur of Eaton; her sister, Mary Elpers of Denver; her brother, Urban Elpers and his wife, Virginia of Strasburg; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Elpers of Strasburg, and Betty Elpers of Sun City, AZ. Alma is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Albert, Joseph, Dennis, Frank, and Inez Elpers, Ann Jeffrey, and Teresa Doherty; her son-in-law, Carey Gettman; and her beloved daughter, Jacqueline Carol Gerkin. A Rosary Vigil will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roggen. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 5th, also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Linnebur Family Cemetery in Roggen. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart or Our Lady of Lourdes Altar & Rosary Society, 38044 Weld County Road 16, Roggen, CO 80652.
