Alma R. Murdock, 96, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born April 4, 1914, in Snowmass, CO, to Joseph & Alina Montover. On April 18, 1936, Alma married James Murdock in Glenwood Springs. James died on June 9, 1968. Alma was a member of the Catholic Church. She has lived in Brush for the past 3 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved to dance. Survivors include her children, Mary Schutte (Joe) of Englewood, CO; Marlene Mero (Bob) of Lakewood, CO, and Jimmie Likely (Gary) of Brush, CO and Gran Murdock (Sharon) of Rifle, CO; 1 sister, Vera Diemoz of Glenwood Springs; 2 brothers, Leno Montover of Parachute, CO and Pleno Montover of Clifton, CO; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Regina and an infant son. A celebration of Alma's life will be held at the St. Stevens Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs on Friday, March 18, 2011, with rosary beginning at 10:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow in the Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
