Altha E. Longaker, 85, died early Sunday morning, September 23, 2007 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born February 1, 1922, in Decatur County, Kansas, to Marion & Edna Johnson. Altha moved to Brush a few months ago to be closer to her son and his family. She worked as a clerk for several years for Safeway and later worked as a bookkeeper for some different companies. She enjoyed volunteering her time in north Denver and Thornton communities. She also like to help people learn to read. She was a member of the Mitchell Caravan Campers and enjoyed camping throughout the country. Survivors include her 3 sons, Ron Barnhill of Brush, Chris Barnhill of Denver, and Larry Barnhill of Germany. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Longaker; 2 sons, Steven & Everett Barnhill; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and her parents. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 10:00 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery
