Alvin H. Oster, 80, of Wiggins, CO, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, CO.   He was born January 26, 1937, in Hazelton, ND to Herbert & Helen Oster.

Al drove a truck for several years in the gas and oil exploration industry. After he retired he began his vocation in the passion he loved – ranching. On June 5, 1991, Al married Evelyn Henry in Fort Morgan. The lived in the Weldona community from 1993 – 1999 and then moved to the Wiggins community in 1999.

Al loved ranching and everything that was associated with it – calving time, horses, and roping. His favorite time was spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al always loved everyone unconditionally and made them feel they had something special to offer. The one thing he loved doing was fencing side by side with his son. He gave encouragement in a way that made you believe anything was possible.

Survivors include his wife, Evie of Wiggins; their children, JanAl Thomas of Roy, UT, Jodean Burrup of South Jordan, UT, Scott Oster of Wiggins, Bonnie Schreiner, Tammy Hillyer and Rick Henry all of Brush and Dan Henry of Fort Morgan; 2 sisters, Ione Roll of Dunn Center, ND and Eileen Melman of Ann Arbor, MI; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Marvin, Vernon, and Dean; 4 great granddaughters and his parents.
