ANITA MARIE (WHITE) MASSENGALE, 83, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. She was born June 1, 1930 in Tahoka, TX to Fred H. & Helen (Proctor) White. Anita grew up on a New Mexico cattle ranch and attended school in New Mexico until the 11th grade. The family moved to Fort Morgan in 1947 and she graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1948. Anita married Lloyd M. Massengale on March 12, 1948. Anita worked as a nurse at the Fort Morgan Hospital for 21 years and for Morgan County Social Services for 11 years before her retirement. She is survived by her son, David Paul Massengale and his wife, Sandra Kay; two grandsons, David M. Massengale and Christopher L. Massengale, all of Fort Morgan; one brother, Joe D. White of Waco, TX; and two great granddaughters, Amber Massengale and Brooklyn Massengale. Anita was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one daughter, her parents, one sister, and two brothers. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, October 16th from 9 AM until 1 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
