Obituary

ANNA M. GODO, 97, of Fort Morgan, died early Tuesday morning, April 24, 2007 at her home. She was born February 25, 1910 in Ramsey, Ohio to Charles & Katherine (Miller) Godo. At the age of 2 years old, her family moved to Bervick, Pennsylvania, and then moved to Louisville, CO when she was 4 years old. Anna attended Fort Morgan Schools and helped her parents with all the farm work on the family farm. In March of 1956 she moved to Denver. Miss. Godo worked for the Shirley Savoy Hotel as a mail clerk and key clerk for three years and she later worked for Denver Dry Goods and did office work for all 12 Denver Dry branch stores for 26 years. Miss. Godo was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan and she also attended Saint Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Denver. She enjoyed traveling. She flew to the Hawaiian Islands in 1967, all 8 provinces in Canada, and also Vancover. She also flew to Columbus, OH, and Mission, TX on several occasions to visit relatives. She visited the United States Capitol, the White House, and the Statue of Liberty two different times. In 1997 she sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to the Bermuda Islands on the Ocean Liner Prince Nordik. She also enjoyed traveling by Trailway or Gray Hound Bus. Miss. Godo is survived by her brother Raymond Godo Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, Theodore, and Lloyd C. Godo; two sisters, Mary Bartha and Rose Bowles; 4 nieces, 8 nephews, 7 great nieces and 3 great nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, April 26th from 7 – 9 PM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 27th at 10:30 AM at Saint Helen's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to Saint Helena's Church. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
