ANSELMO "Al" M. JIMENEZ, 83, longtime Fort Morgan resident, died Monday, November 9, 2009 at his home in Fort Morgan. He was born in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico on April 21, 1926 to Victor & Maria (Maldonado) Jimenez. He married Ofelia Patlan on November 25, 1955 in Coahuila, Mexico. Mr. Jimenez was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. He was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Post 2551. He enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, and music. Survivors include his two daughters, Carmen Jimenez of Fort Morgan and Mary Lou Garcia of Brush; three sons, Gerald Jimenez of Fort Morgan, John Jimenez and Frank Jimenez, both of Fort Collins; his brother, Jose of Fort Morgan; two sisters, Aurora Guiterrez of Uvalde, TX, and Guadalupe Benitez of Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ofelia Jimenez; two brothers, Ernesto and Antonio; his sister, Eva Solis; his son, Victor Jimenez; and his granddaughter, Amanda Hollowell. Visitation will be Thursday, November 12th from 2 – 7 PM with a Rosary Vigil beginning at 7:00 PM, both at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 13th at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
