Anthony N. Galyk, 78, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the North Colorado Medical Center inpatient hospice unit. He was born June 13, 1934, in Marion, OH, to Michael C. & Mary K. Galyk. Tony served in the US Navy from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1964. On January 18, 1961, he married Maxine Ingmire in Brush. Following his discharge from the US Navy, the Galyk's moved to Brush. During his working career, Tony worked at the Sigman Meat Company; owned and operated Galyk's Grill; served as manager of Bunker Hill Country Club; worked for Farmland Co-Op; and worked in the maintenance department of the RE-2J School District. Tony was very involved in the Brush community having served as president of the Brush Jaycees; member of the American Legion Sagebrush Post; and was an active bowler and member of the Brush Bowling Association. He enjoyed woodworking and building model military airplanes, was an avid Ohio State University sports fan; a Cleveland Browns fan, and enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies. His favorite past time was spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of over 51 years, Maxine of Brush; 2 children, Scott, and his wife Lori of Littleton, CO, and Merrie Lu Cox, and her husband Chad of Brighton; 2 sisters, Virginia Plumley of Marion, OH, Jane Miner of Charleston, SC; 3 brothers, Walter, and his wife Camille of Las Vegas, NV; Ed, and his wife Barb of Dayton, OH; and Mike, and his wife Janet, of Marion, OH; his sisters in law, Darlene Galyk of Balefountain, OH; Sonny Galyk of Roy, UT; Laura Ingmire and Donna Schilling of Brush; and Bev Ingmire of Fort Morgan; and his 5 grandchildren, Kendall, Kelsie, Caleb, Brooklynn; and Levi. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 10:00 AM at the Brush United Methodist Church.
