Anton Scherk Jr. passed away peacefully at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, Colorado on September 3rd. 2017 at the age of 79.

Anton is predeceased by his parents Anton Sr. and Maria Scherk, his brother John Scherk, sister Maria Skinner and former wife, Lorraine Blackburn.

Anton is lovingly remembered by his children: Susan, Anthony and Joseph, grandchildren: Sarah, Rachel, Joshua, Elizabeth, Abigail, Hannah and Alyssa, great-grandchildren: Malcom and Isaac. Anton is also survived by his brothers Frank, Walter, Eric and sister Ann, including several nieces and nephews.

Anton was born in Croatia on May 24th, 1938. He had a long career as a Journeyman for Denver Drywall. Anton was the lead foreman on several Denver High-rises and would take on side jobs for dry walling, when available.

Anton was a devoted Catholic and passionate for people. He loved his family, friends and neighbors dearly. He was a hardworking, charitable and kind man. He delivered meals to local shut-ins, up until the week of his passing. Anton was an avid reader and could never turn down a good book. He enjoyed the great outdoors, including fishing with his brother, Walter.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 225 E. Platte Ave., Ft. Morgan, CO. on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Brian Blackburn officiating.
