ANTONIO RIVERA, 95, longtime resident of Fort Morgan, went to be with our Lord on March 2, 2012, surrounded by his family. Antonio was born May 9, 1916 to Genovevo & Blasa (Recio) Rivera in Port Isabel, TX. He married Dolorez Garza on May 10, 1941 in Brownsville, TX. Antonio worked on farms in Texas, Montana, and Mississippi before settling his family in Fort Morgan where he worked on farms, the Buick-Chevrolet auto dealership, and then the American Beef Plant for many years before retiring. Antonio enjoyed fishing, attending his sons wrestling matches, watching professional wrestling/boxing, and spending time with his family including trips to the casinos. He was very giving of his time, always being available for his children and grandchildren. In his later years, he enjoyed sitting on his porch on Main Street watching the comings and goings of Fort Morgan. Antonio is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 years, Dolorez of Fort Morgan and his eight children, Melley & Reuben Castro of Fort Morgan, Felix & Patti Rivera of Brush, Fallie & Ramon Chavez, Margie & Nemecio Garcia, Carlos & Virginia Rivera, all of Fort Morgan, Janie & Juan Cruz of Brush, Victor & Sylvia Rivera of Greeley, and Johnny & Roberta Rivera of Decatur, TN, 36 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Manuel; and three sisters, Eulalia, Pabla, and Antonia. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM on Tuesday, March 6th with a Rosary Vigil beginning at 7:00 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 7th at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
