Antonio Ruiz, 60, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away suddenly at his home. He was born September 16, 1955 in Frederick, OK to Ernesto & Viola Ruiz.

When Tony was a child, the Ruiz family moved to Morgan County. Prior to retirement he worked for CDOT and area farms when he was off duty. Tony enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, hunting, and going to auctions & garage sales.

Tony was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church.

Survivors include his two children, Eric of Gering, NE and Tina of Lubbock, TX; 3 brothers, Jessie of Wiggins, Marty and Mark both of Weldona; 3 sisters, Beatrice Dixon and Mariana Lundock both of Weldona and Maria Ruiz of Omaha, NE; three step-sons, Mike Gonzales of Westminster, Damien Gonzales of Thornton, Marcus Gonzales of Greeley; a special friend, Christine Vasquez; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Viola; 5 brothers, Ernesto Jr., Fred, Richard, Gregerio and Estanlido Ruiz; one sister, Connie; his wife, Lupe; one daughter; Olivia Lulf; and one nephew Martin Dixon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 3, at 10:00 AM at St. Helena Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Serenity Falls Columbarium. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.
