Archie Glazier Jr, 86, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013, at his home near Wiggins. He was born March 12, 1927, to Archie & Nellie Glazier at the family home near Wiggins. Archie attended school in Wiggins but graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1945. Following graduation, he joined the US Navy. He was honorably discharged on July 10, 1946. Following his discharged, Archie started Glazier Custom Farm Service, and continued to work in this family owned business until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the American Legion. He married Shirley Giles in 1946. They later divorced. Shirley died in 2003. He later married Barbara Hindman. She also preceded him in death. Archie was an avid hunter, hunting exotic animals, both large & small. He frequently is remembered for his taxidermy animals that he had on display. Another hobby that Archie enjoyed was creating metal sculptures & signs. He especially liked to spend time having coffee and visiting his many friends at the Prairie Ranch House Restaurant. His family was very important to him and he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his son, Chuck Glazier, and his wife Sue of Wiggins; step son, Brad Gettings, and his wife Debey of Phoenix, AZ; a step daughter, Becky Mate, and her husband Randy of Sunland, CA; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Bohr, 1 sister, Pearl Marquardt, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 10:00 AM at the Wiggins Community Church. Military honors will be given after the service. Inurnment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
