Arlo Ervine Bristol passed away on Wednesday, December 25th at CommonSpirit- St. Elizabeth Hospital after suffering a long-term illness. Arlo was 86 years old. He was born to Homer and Dorothy Bristol in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on June 19, 1938, and was the youngest of ten children.
Arlo worked at Fort Morgan Airport (now known as Bristol Field at Fort Morgan Municipal Airport) where his brothers, Eldred and Merle, operated Bristol Flying Service. Arlo operated his own ground spraying business serving many farmers in the area. He drove milk trucks for several years at Mountain Empire Dairyman's Association, later known as Western Dairymen Incorporated Corporation. Where he retired in 1994. Today the company is known as Dairy Farmers of America.
Arlo loved the mountains where he spent as much time as he could camping and riding ATVs in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. He took pride in spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Arlo married Ruby Foley on January 25th, 1964. They were married for over 60 years. They raised two children, Duane and Deborah.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Foley) Bristol along with their children: Duane & Shelly (Baumgartner) Bristol and Deborah (Bristol) Jorgensen. Grandchildren: Joshua & Ashley (Horton) Bristol, Amber (Bristol) & Joren Canfield, Tiffany Jorgensen; Jacob & Tyler (Willis) Jorgensen. Great-grandchildren: Zaiden Holguin, Jaxton Canfield, Brody Bristol, Braxsen Canfield, Eeklan Jorgensen and Haxtynn Canfield (whom Arlo shared a birthdate). His sisters: Frances Barrett (of Loveland, Colorado) and Arlene Foley (of Brush, Colorado). Along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Wayne, Eldred, Lester, Harlan, Merle, Hope (Bristol) David, and Elaine (Bristol) Ford.
Graveside Service will be Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
