Obituary

Art Kalous, 71, Long time area resident, died in the comfort of his home Sunday morning following a long illness. He was born September 11, 1936 in Milo, Missouri to Anton and Mary (Kral) Kalous. His family moved to Woodrow in 1942 where he grew up on the farm. He served in the U.S. Marines for a short time before being medically discharged. Art married Priscilla Dunlap June 10, 1961 in Ft. Morgan. Art worked for many years as a driller for the Allison Drilling Company where he drilled for oil & gas. He later moved on to Greenes Oil & Water Service and lastly for the Western Cleanup Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scratching lottery tickets , and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. Art is survived by his wife Priscilla of Log Lane Village, his daughter Teresa Willis and her husband Jim and their children Landin and Keryn, his daughter Robin White and her husband Monte and their son Trae, his daughter Lorrie Malone and her husband Tim and their children Dayton and Kennedy all of Ft. Morgan, two sisters Mary Greene of Ft. Morgan and Helen Babcock of Tacoma, WA, one brother Anton Kalous of Woodrow, and a close family friend Ricky Cuckow and his family of Weldona. . Art was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at the Calvary Baptist Church 1120 State St. in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Calvary Baptist Church.
