Arthur Wacker, 90, of Fort Morgan died Sept. 4, 2012 at Valley View Villa after a short illness. His funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. Art was born on March 15, 1922 in Berthoud Colorado to John J. and Anna Margaret Schaefer Wacker. He served in the US Army from 1942-1944 in North Africa and Italy during World War II. After his discharge from the Army, he studied auto body work and mechanics in Kansas City before returning the Colorado where he began farming. He married Florence Gohr on July 1, 1951 in Monte Vista, Colorado. They had four children. He farmed in the Greeley area and near Weldona until moving to the family farm north of Fort Morgan in 1967 where he farmed until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing pool, and tinkering in his shop. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings: Emily, Carl, John, Reiney, Freida, Ted, Harold, Ed, and Esther. Survivors include his wife, Florence; a brother, Ben Wacker of Severance, Co; a sister, Irene Lakin of Buffalo, Wy; four children and their spouses, Matt and Kathy Wacker Brasby of Fort Morgan, Rev. Norman and Bonnie Wacker of Sundance, Wy, John and Angela Wacker of Karval, Co, Dave and Ann Wacker Iungerich of Fort Morgan. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren: David, Chris, Ben and Aaron Wacker; Felicia Wacker Clifford and Caitlin Wacker, Rebecca Morrow; Alex, Matthew and Max Iungerich, Luke Ashlock; Cicilia Brasby Selinger, Melissa Brasby Galloway, Debbie Brasby Rogers, Nathan, Becky and Timothy Brasby. Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren. The Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
