Asencion "Chon" Garcia, 61, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born April 18, 1954, in Mexico to Gil Antonio & Tomasa Garcia. On January 9, 1976, Chon married Candee Halverson in Missouri. After living in Iowa for a short time, the Garcia's moved to the Brush community. Chon has worked for Jim Odle for the past 15 years. Chon loved riding his motorcycle, and working on cars. In his younger years he enjoyed riding bulls and bucking broncos. His favorite time was spent with his family, especially enjoying his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Candee of Brush; 3 children, Tammy Garcia and her husband Mario, of Brush; Asencion "Chony" Garcia, and his wife Bridgett of Cheyenne, WY and Cindy Adame-Martinez of Mexico; 2 sisters, Rosario Villarreal of Friona, TX; and Martha Contreras of Big Lake, TX; Gustavo Garcia and Antonio Garcia both of Brush; Lupe Garcia of Mexico; Juan Garcia of Big Lake, TX and Salvador Garcia of Friona, TX; his parents, Gil Antonio & Tomasa Garcia of Big Lake, TX; and 6 grandchildren, Kenia Martinez, Mario Martinez, Mario Salazar, Makayla Salazar, Josiah Garcia and Bristol Garcia. He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter and 1 brother, Javier. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 21, at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Monday from 4 - 6 PM.
