Audrey
Carlson
Apr 20, 1946 — Feb 9, 2025
Brush
Audrey L. Carlson left her earthly home to spend eternity in her Heavenly home on February 9, 2025. Audrey began life on April 20, 1946 in Brush, Colorado to her parents Ed & Grace Carlson as the seventh child of their nine children. She was raised in Snyder, then Hillrose, and finally Brush. Audrey attended the Hillrose schools during her elementary and junior high years. Her high school years were spent at Brush High School, where she graduated in 1964. That same year, Audrey continued her education in Denver to become a hairdresser. In 1965, she came back home to Brush to start her hairdressing career at Adorable Lady. Audrey co-owned and worked there for fifteen years until she opened up her own shop aptly named Audrey's Hairport in 1980. She had a successful clientele for almost an impressive sixty years. In the meantime, Audrey became a super wonderful single mother to her son John James Carlson, who was born in 1966.
Audrey had multiple talents/hobbies including being a smart high-school waitress at the local Krueger's, a longtime faithful member of the United Methodist Church and briefly a Sunday School teacher, an excellent cook, an avid reader and book collector, a T. V. and music lover, a creative craftmaker, a fun gameplayer, a terrific bowler, and an amazing singer. She was so much more than that, but it would be quite the novel's worth to tell. Her favorite flowers were yellow roses and especially sunflowers, which fit Audrey's brilliantly beautiful personality. Her magnificent storytelling and quick wit about life in general was second-to-none. Audrey fiercely loved her family, friends, and God as well. She also adored and collected penguins, snowpeople, and angels. In fact, Audrey created angels from light bulbs and gifted them to family & friends. One year, she received an Angels Among Us award for great contributions to her community. As Audrey once was an earth angel, she will forever be an extraordinary angel in the sky.
Audrey is survived by her loving son John and granddog Sydney, of Brush; her two sisters Phyllis and Wanda, also of Brush; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Nadine and Baby Girl, and brothers Val, Loren, Wayne, and Jim. We will all be together someday...but until then, dear Mom, you will be incredibly missed always!!!
There will be no service.
