AURELIO "AL" SANCHEZ, also commonly known as "Hon", died Monday evening, April 28, 2008 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was 75. He was born March 18, 1933 in Taos, NM to Alberto & Gomecinda (Sierra) Sanchez. He married Bella Sanchez on March 10, 1953 in Akron, CO. Mr. Sanchez worked as a mechanic for the Standard Station in Fort Morgan for 15 years, and also worked at American Beef, now Cargill in Fort Morgan for 10 years. His most recent job was with Century Homes in Fort Morgan as a carpenter, where he worked until about 1983 when an accident prevented him from continuing with work. Al was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. He enjoyed working in his yard, and especially liked Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He collected model motorcycles and antique cars. Survivors include his wife, Bella Sanchez of Fort Morgan; his daughter, Theresa Molina of Longmont; one sister, Juanita Sanchez; and two brothers, Manuel Sanchez, and Albert Sanchez, all of Taos, NM; two granddaughters, Janell Recendez of Denver, and Meghann Castillo of Greeley; and his great granddaughter, Mikaela Recendez of Denver. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters; and his son, Michael Sanchez. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 1 – 7 PM, followed by a Rosary Vigil at 7:00 PM, at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 2nd at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
