Obituary

Austin Keith Johnston, 32, resident of Midland, TX, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 14, 2021. He was born on May 4 th , 1989 in Fort Morgan, CO to Deb Johnston and Bart Johnston.

Austin graduated from Ft. Morgan High School in 2007 and attended Diesel Automotive school in Denver. At the time of his death, Austin was the office manager and diesel mechanic at Roper Inc. in Odessa, TX.

Austin was very personable, he loved his co-workers, and his friend Jenifer.  He was well-respected by his co-workers, vendors and everyone who knew him.  Austin loved his family and always checked on and had a very tight bond with his mom and two sisters. He was always joking with his nieces and nephews, and loved his son dearly.

Austin was a natural farmer, mechanic, and hard worker. His strong work ethic and perseverance helped him achieve his dream car, his pride and joy, his corvette. He loved Tom Brady and watching football as well as listening to music and attending concerts. Austin was a jokester, a teddy bear, and wonderful son, brother, dad, uncle, and friend. He had a heart of gold and loved life.

He is survived by his parents, Deb Johnston and Bart Johnston; two sisters, Brianna Whiting and her husband, Josh of Buffalo Center, IA, and Tricia Wieser and her husband, Philip of Hutto, TX; his maternal grandpa, Jerry Windsheimer; nieces, Kaizli and Hartli Whiting and Phayedra Wieser; nephews, Kachous and Stochton Whiting and Trayejan, Tyetus, and Trennyr Wieser; his son, Jayden Johnston; his very special friend, Jenifer Pomroy, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Jean Windsheimer.

Austin will be dearly missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 24 th at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Sherman Street in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial gifts may be made to the Bethesda Lutheran Communities fund.
