Barbara Ann Kacnik, 57, longtime area resident, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at her home in Ft. Morgan. Barbara was born February 15, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Louis E. and Minetta (Blackwell) Ahrens. On October 18, 1975 she married Paul M. Kacnik in Commerce City, CO. They moved to Ft. Morgan that same year. Paul worked at the Port of Entry until his death on May 8, 2006. Barbara worked for The Farmer's State Bank in Ft. Morgan for over 30 years. She was an active of the BPO Does and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 19. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts of all kinds, traveling, and animals, especially her dog, Chloe. Survivors include two sisters, Nancy Jo Ahrens and Nathlie Jane Leake, both of Ft. Worth, Texas and one brother, Robert L. Ahrens of Knoxville, Tennessee. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her parents. Memorial graveside services will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Serenity Falls Columbarium in Ft. Morgan.
