Barbara Mae Pennington, 91 years old, 7 months and 3 days of Brush, CO passed away August 15, 2010 at her daughter's home in Roosevelt, Utah. Barbara was born January 12, 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri to Matilda Oelke. She enjoyed her school years but quit high school to marry. It was with great pride that she received her GED in 1986. She married Edwin H. Pennington on August 4, 1937. From that union they had three children. Barbara was a commercial seamstress and worked for Gerry Mountain Sports where she helped in the development of rescue packs for dogs and the Gerry backpack. She loved to crochet, make quilts, play dominos and cards. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises. Her home and heart was always open to everyone. She was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church, Republican Women of Morgan county, Royal Neighbors and the Red Hat Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin H. Pennington 6/2/85, her son Claude E. Pennington and her parents William and Matilda Teigs. She is survived by her son Robert L. (Bob) Pennington, Brush, CO, her daughter Edna Mae Winn (Frank) of Roosevelt, UT and her brother Bill Teigs (Hazelene) of Farmington, NM. And by 64 descendants - 11 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many friends, family and loved ones. Her family expresses thanks to Uintah Basin Health Care and Hospice of Roosevelt in Roosevelt, Utah. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 20th at 11 AM at the All Saints Lutheran Church, Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, 1900 Edison Street, Brush, CO. Visitation will be at Thursday at Heer & Dahl Mortuaries & Crematory in Brush from 4 to 6 PM. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery at Sterling, CO following the service.
