Obituary

Beatrice (Bea) Kay Jones passed away Monday, March 14, 2022in Haxtun, Colorado. She was born in Mapleton, Iowa, December 7, 1941 to Ronald and Norma Parker.

Bea lived in, and attended school in Sioux City Iowa. During her time there, she married Cerold Jones on October 5, 1958 and was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, Morningside Easter Star (a past Worthy Matron) and Daughters of the Nile (a past queen). Bea owned and operated Bea's Plants & Gifts, and Bea's Cement Lawn Art, she also worked at the Hallmark Store and Target at the Southern Hills Mall, all in Sioux City.

In the summer of 1984, Bea and Cerold moved to Memphis, TN and then to Brush.  She began working at Sav O'Mat in Fort Morgan, where she managed the store for over 15 years. She made many cherished friends during that time.

Bea loved to spend time outside soaking up the warm weather and pruning her summer flowers. She enjoyed spoiling all her stray cats and dogs that they would take in throughout the years. She enjoyed many trips to Sioux City visiting her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and fishing throughout Colorado and Iowa.

Bea is survived by her loving husband, Cerold Jones of Hillrose; four children, Rick (Sonia) Jones, Laura (Joel) Tasker, Terri (Rick) Birkhofer, and Eric Jones; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Nathaniel, Nicole, Justin, Christopher, Nicholas, Derek, Kyle and William; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley (Tom) Kinquist; and one brother, Dick Parker.

Bea is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Nanette Johnston.

Services for Bea will be held at a later date.
