Ben Sanchez was born on June 5, 1933 in Rodarte, New Mexico. He passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver.

Ben loved his family, but more than anything he loved his lifelong companion and wife, Sofia. Ben also enjoyed gardening and working on his friend's vehicles. He loved Spanish soap operas and both Spanish and English country music. Ben worked for Standard Gas Station in the 60's, REA in the 70's and 80's, and then retired from the Fort Morgan School Bus Garage in 2000.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Isabel Sanchez; his brothers, Eloy, John, and Ray; and sister, Margaret Alonzo.

He is survived by his wife, Sofia; his five children, Debra Perez (Jerry), Ben Jr. (Kristie), Rick, Kathy Dalrymple (Gene), and Barbara Contreras (Richard); three siblings, Paul Sanchez (Benita), Bella Sanchez, and Josie Chavez (Gabriel). He had 14 grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31 ^st at Christ's Church, 330 State Street in Fort Morgan at 1:30 p.m. with Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery and reception to follow at the church.
