BERT JOHN COVELLI, 89, lifetime farmer and cattle feeder in Weldona, died Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was born in Fort Morgan on September 28, 1921 to Ilario & Beatrice (Savoldelli) Covelli. He married Betty Marshall in 1947. They later divorced. He married Dorothy Asmus in 1984. Mr. Covelli was a past board member of the Weldon Valley School Board and the Weldon Valley Ditch Board. He was an avid Denver Bronco's fan and he enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's football and basketball games. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Covelli of Fort Morgan; four sons, Barry Covelli of Fort Morgan, Robert Covelli of Log Lane Village, and William Covelli and Bradly "Tex" Covelli, both of Weldona; his daughter, Becky Twiss of Wray; two stepchildren, Susan Edsall and James Covelli, both of Loveland; his sister, Judy Hall of Arizona, 13 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Kammerer, Gloria Hanna, and Andrena Parachini; three brothers, Guido Covelli, Dominick Covelli, and Louie Covelli; and two grandchildren, Bobby Jo Covelli and Justin Covelli. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 6th at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church.
