Berta Mendez, 72 , resident of Lochbuie, passed away Friday, April, 24, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 11, 1942, in Tejamanil, GTO, Mexico to Jose and Maria Caudillo. Berta married Silverio Mendez on January 8, 1958 in Romita, GTO, Mexico. Berta enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and gardening, especially flowers. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Silverio Mendez; 6 sons, Victor Mendez, Gregorio Mendez, Jose Mendez, Dionicio Mendez, Silverio Mendez Jr., and Marcos Mendez; 2 daughters, Angelica Mendez and Maria Mendez; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5pm - 8pm with recitation Rosary at 7pm at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church in Wiggins, CO. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
