Bertha Doreen Phillips, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born August 24, 1928, in Lansing, MI to Jerry & Josephine Spurr.

Doreen married Richard Phillips Sr. on April 17, 1945, in Red Lodge, MT. The Phillips family lived in many locations because Richard worked in the oil fields. In 1969 they settled in Brush.

Doreen enjoyed working crossword puzzles, word search games, crocheting, drawing and painting. She had many exotic birds and fish and a special companion dog she named Snowball. She loved to dance, listen to music and sing, right to her very last days. Doreen was a homemaker and loved her family. She always looked forward to spending time with her kids and loved to fix a big meal. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, the Morman Church.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Edna) Jr, of Dayton, TX, Bobby (Mary) of Missoula, MT, Frank (Donna) of Brush, Jay (Debbie) of Kemmerer, WY, and Jackie (Randy) Danielsen of Brush; 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 7 great – great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jo Kay; her husband of 52 years, one grandson, several brothers & sisters, and her parents.

A celebration of Doreen's life will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 1:00 PM at the Brush Memorial Cemetery Interment Chapel.  The service will conclude at the Chapel. The Heer Mortuary & Crematory was entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
