Bertha (Bert) Audrey Russell, 91, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Lakeland, Florida.

She was born on May 20, 1930 in Searcy, Arkansas to James Robert Polk and Florence Nellie (Sparrow).

Bertha married Bernard Henry Oliver Jr. and had one daughter from this union, Sheila Ann Oliver.

She later married her second husband, Melvin Joe Miller and had two daughters from this union, Sandra Kay Miller and Glenda Lee Miller. Bertha then married her third husband, David Wilson Russell and had one son from this union, Randy Linn Russell.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years.  She loved to bake – especially bread and cinnamon rolls.  She loved music and singing.  For many years she worked as a home health aide.  Her favorite time was spent with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their families: Daughter Sheila Kulhanek of York, Nebraska, Alan (Shelly) Kulhanek of Lincoln, Nebraska, Sadie Kulhanek and fiancé Tuck Graydon of Rochester, New York, and Noah Kulhanek of Lincoln, Nebraska, Robert (Robin) Kulhanek of Mobile, Alabama and Cassidy Kulhanek and fiancé Zachary Welman of Chicago, Illinois.  Daughter Sandra (Michael) Killian of Rockford, Illinois, Janelle (Mark) Huston of Durand Illinois, Caitlin and Christian Huston of Durand, Illinois, Matthew (Kree) Killian, Mason and Sadie of Glen Burnie, Maryland.  Daughter Glenda (Kenneth) Owens of Lakeland, Florida, David Owens of Lakeland, Florida and Emily (Brandon) Nealy, Shira, Adeline, Jude and Amelia Nealy of Sunset, Louisiana.  Son Randy Linn Russell of Denver, Colorado.  She is also survived by her sisters, Myrtle Smith of Searcy, Arkansas and sisters-in-law Debbie Polk of Pangburn Arkansas, Georgeann Polk of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Maurine Polk of Searcy Arkansas and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, her brothers James Polk, Rubert Polk, Glen Polk and Ellis Polk, her sisters Lee Dillon and Eula King, son-in-law Adolf Kulhanek, Jr., and granddaughter Hannah Owens.

Her wishes were to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the Brush Memorial Cemetery Interment Chapel.
