Bertha May (Bert) Randels Williams was born on May 17, 1927 to Frederick Allen Randels and Bertie Jenkins Randels. She passed away at Valley View Villa on July 15, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Morgan County, she graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1945. On May 12, 1946, she married LaVaughn Williams. They have five children: Apryl Cooper, Donald, Howard, Rickey, and Cheryl Yearous.

In 1973, LaVaughn and Bert bought Etta's Children's Shop, and they soon opened Williams Children's Shops in Wray, Yuma, Sterling, as well as a boy's shop in Fort Morgan. They sold the stores in 1996 after supplying their grandchildren with clothes for 23 years.

Bert loved to play golf, bowl, play bridge, and keep the yard trimmed. She was raised in an artistic family, and enjoyed painting-oils and watercolors.
She also loved to draw house plans. Several houses in Fort Morgan were built using her plans.

She and LaVaughn loved to dance, and spent a lot of time at the Elks, especially when he was the Exalted Ruler. LaVaughn and Bert built a cabin in Estes Park from scratch, and they had  had vacation homes in Glen Haven Retreat, and also Green Valley, Arizona for several years. They took many beautiful trips: to the Bahamas, the World's Fair in Seattle, Canada, Mexico, several countries in Europe, and most of the states in the United States. Both were always happy to be home.

Preceding her in death were her husband LaVaughn, her parents, brothers Allen and David Randels, sisters Alice Randels Davis Whitehead, Eleanor Randels Williams, Cecel Randels Larson, and Lillian Randels Hauge. She is survived by her 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the church, where Bert has been a member since 1939.
