Bettie Ann Peterson, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2023. She was born to Howard and Myrtle Hutchinson on April 16, 1934. She resided in Fort Morgan most of her life with her siblings, Shirly (Lui) and Carl (both deceased). Her father passed away when she was only 9 years of age.

Following high school, Bettie became the beautiful bride of her "one and only love," Gene Peterson. When Gene saw her for the first time in a movie theater, he remarked to his friend, "One day I will marry that girl!"

Gene and Bettie would reside on the family farm east of Snyder and celebrate 61 years of marriage together. Bettie's passing comes 10 years to the month following her husband's death.

This amazing couple would be blessed with 4 children, Kristy (Tindle), Robin (Mike) James, Benny (Pam) and Russell (Wendy). Together they were instrumental in founding 4 churches and a Christian school, still existing to this day. Their love and passion for Christ was evident and continued throughout their lives.

Bettie would extend their ministries to include Child Evangelism Fellowship (Good News Clubs) Chairman for Christian Women's Club of Morgan County, Friendship Bible Coffees including numerous women's Bible Studies. During her life she was an intricate part of Snyder Bible Church as a charter member, serving as a youth leader with Gene for 25 years. She worked tirelessly serving her Lord, family and helping on the farm. Her dinner table most frequently was loaded with family and guests. She drove tractor, milked cows and filled in every other need necessary at any moment in time. She was the "Family Fun" as she took kids to community concerts, roller skating, ice skating, pony rides and swimming at the sandpit. Her countenance was cheerful and happy… always infectious to those around her. Her favorite jingle was "O say but I'm glad, I'm glad" and the tune "It's a Lovely Day Today." She was known to bop into each morning singing to those around her. She loved to make people laugh with her cute antics and fake Billyteeth.

To live without her means that she is now without pain and suffering and with Jesus. To those of us left behind, it means sadness for loss of an amazing woman of grace.

Bettie is survived by her children, their spouses, 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren with 2 great, great grandchildren due in 2024.

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore for the former things have passed away.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, 10:30 am at Snyder Bible Church, in Snyder, Colorado.
