Betty L. Boone, 87, of Fort Morgan, passed away peacefully, Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2018 at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan.

She was born in Norton, KS on August 14, 1930 to Lavon & Thelma (Williams) Edson. The family came to Colorado when Betty was a young girl. She married Ransom K. Boone on June 28, 1947 in Brush. Betty was a homemaker and housewife, as they raised five children. She also helped in the family business, Ransom Boone Excavating.

Betty was a member of the church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being active in the church, and working in her yard.

She is survived by her husband, Ransom Boone of Fort Morgan; four children, Linda Shelton of Fort Morgan, Sandra Yearous and husband, Bruce of Otis, Jim Boone and wife, Deb of Fort Morgan, and Debra Torley and husband, Randy of Granbury, TX; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Delmar, Howard, and Kenneth Edson; her son, Rick Boone; her son-in-law, Jim Shelton; and her grandson-in-law, Jesse Mendoza.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 18th from 4 – 6 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 19th at 11:00 AM, also at the chapel. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
