Betty Jo Hinds, 75, longtime resident of the Brush community, passed away early Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the inpatient hospice unit of the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born June 16, 1935, in Wainwright, OK, to Palmer & Ora Henry. Betty Jo graduated from Brush High School in 1953. On September 10, 1953, she married John R. Hinds in Raton, NM. Betty Jo worked in the bookkeeping department of Farmers State Bank in Brush for several years. The Hinds family moved to Kimball, NE. In 1970 they moved back to Brush and Betty Jo began working at the First National Bank in Brush. Following her retirement from the bank, Betty Jo helped her husband with the cattle feeding operation south of Brush. Betty was a member of the Brush Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and working in her yard and garden. Her favorite time was spent with her family. Survivors include her husband, John of Brush; 2 daughters, Tanya Harned and her husband Glen, and Johnette Vondy, all of Brush; her 5 grandchildren, Kendra Ivie (T.J.), Amber Musgrave (Rodney), Kamera Palser, Dayna Harned, and Kolby Vondy (Jen) and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, James, and her parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Brush Church of Christ at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush on Tuesday from 3–6 PM.
