Obituary

Betty Jean Hurkett, 83, longtime area resident, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Jean was born March 28, 1931 in Englewood, Colorado to Earl and Clio Merrill. She graduated from Littleton High School and went to Parks Business School in Denver after. Jean married Robert M. Hurkett on October 22, 1949 in Englewood. Jean was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching the Broncos, fishing, traveling, her animals, and gardening. Jean always planted roses where ever they lived. Survivors include, her husband, Robert; two daughters, Marva Bellendir (Tim) of Fort Morgan, and Cindy Bothwell (Keith) of Greeley, and one son, Earl Hurkett (Jenni), of Littleton, grandchildren, Amy Bellendir, Tim Bellendir Jr. (Adrienne), Micah Hurkett, Monica Hurkett, Courtney Nault (Ray), Robert Hurkett (Rachel), William Freriks (Rachel) and Tianna Davis (Eric), and nine great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Darwin Merrill, and her parents. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Memorial Gifts may be made to the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan.
