Betty R. Johnson-Zimbelman, 81, of Ft. Morgan, died Wednesday morning at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born May 14, 1929 in Gurley, NE to Walter and Emma Grunwald. Betty married Harold Johnson on February 8, 1948 in Gurley, NE. They moved to Ft. Morgan in 1956 and then moved to Steamboat Springs in 1971 where she worked in the Norwest Bank for 17 years. Harold died in 1991. Betty moved back to Ft. Morgan where she met and married Neal Zimbelman. Neal died June 11, 2008. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and a member of the Ft. Morgan DOES. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hale, of Greeley; two sons, Rick Johnson and wife, Sandra, of Endicott, NE and Randy Johnson and wife, Kim, of Fairbury, NE; two sisters, Lois Busboom and Eunice Lindell, both of Sidney, NE; 6 grandchildren, Shelly Eikenberg of Wiggins, CO, Becky Rockwell of Peoria, IL, Jennifer Bargen of Marysville, KS, Brooke Krakow of Sioux Falls, SD, Logan Sherwood of Aurora, NE, Jenna Hughes of Fairbury, NE and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 great grandson, her husbands, Harold and Neal, and her parents. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
