It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty J Nelson on April 14, 2025, at the age of 74.   Betty was born July 2nd, 1950, to Betty Martin Roy and Don Roy in Denver, CO.

Betty met and married the love of her life, Ken Nelson Sr, in 1971. They were married for 48 years. Betty has two children, Connie and Ken Jr. Ken and Betty raised their children in Nebraska and then later in the mountains near Idaho Springs, CO. Betty drove a School Bus when they lived in Nebraska and also in Colorado.  Betty and her husband owned and operated a successful towing business, where they retired and relocated to Wray, CO.   In 2018, Betty and her husband moved near Fort Morgan, CO where she lived until her passing.

Betty was talented in many ways as she crocheted many blankets, made homemade jewelry and often would create unique gifts.  She loved to collect blown glass, angels and dolls.  She also loved to go camping, boating and spending time with her beloved family.

Betty was heartbroken when her husband Ken passed away in 2019.  She is survived by her children Connie Jaramillo (Floyd) and Ken Nelson Jr (Shantel).  She has five grandchildren, Corbin Gonzalez (Tori), Cain Gonzalez, Dalton, Kylee Nelson and Haylee Nelson.  She has one great granddaughter and four special step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kathy Jurey, and both brothers Don Roy and John Roy, And numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband Ken Nelson Sr.

Services will be held Friday, May 2nd at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge, NE on Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00 PM (CT).
