Obituary

Betty Jean Tarman, 86, died Friday November 30, 2007 at her home in Brush. She was born November 3, 1921 in Independence, Kansas to Charles and Mabel (Van Deventer) Neighbors. Her early years were spent in Butler County Kansas, mainly in El Dorado. She attended school in El Dorado, graduating from El Dorado High School in 1939 then graduating from El Dorado Jr. College in 1941. Betty married Wendell Tarman in Wichita, Kansas on October 31, 1941. Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, sailing and watching sporting events on television. She was a Broncos and Rockies fan and would also watch golf. Survivors include two sons, Rev. Phillip Tarman of Ft. Morgan and Michael Tarman of Salem, South Carolina and nine grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell who died in 2004, one son, Larry Tarman, one sister, Dorothy Skalla and two brothers, Jim Neighbors and Jack Neighbors. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. Services will conclude at the Church. Memorial Gifts may be made to the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
