Obituary

Beverly Causey, 94, longtime resident of Morgan County, passed from this life peacefully in her sleep at Valley View Villa on Wednesday, August 1. She was born September 19, 1923, in Fort Morgan to Ernest and Ruth Gordon Schmidlap.

Bev married the love of her life, Clifford Causey, on November 20, 1939, in Sidney, NE. They enjoyed 71 years together on their farm and ranch south of Fort Morgan.

During WW II the Secretary of the Interior designated the Causey farm to raise food to support the war. Both worked tirelessly to produce thousands of turkeys, sheep, cattle, hogs and wheat for the cause.

Bev and Cliff were avid bowlers and were members of the Brush Bowling Association. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Wetzel Homemakers Extension Club and worked on numerous community betterment projects including planting trees for farmstead wind belts, and made road signs to mark local roads.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Park Molloy of Stillwater, OK, and four grandchildren, Efton Park of Fort Worth, TX, Russell Park of Austin, TX, Sandra Hays of Allen, TX, and Kenneth Park of Colorado Springs; six great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Eldon and Lee Schmidlap; and her parents.
