Obituary

Beverly Ann Strand, longtime resident of Brush, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024. She was born on March 31,1937 to Solomon and Esther Lesser in Brush Colorado. She attended school in Brush and was a huge Beetdigger fan!

On June 20,1954 she married the love of her life, Carl Harold Strand in Brush at the Congregational Church. They were married for 54 years and raised four children. Bev worked in multiple medical offices throughout her life in Morgan County.

Bev was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she enjoyed playing the bells, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school classes and being on the church council. Bev loved to bake, crochet, bowl, play pinochle and bridge. She also loved the Broncos and would watch them religiously. She loved and spoiled her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. When they had a birthday, "Nana Bev" would be in charge of making just the right cake for the occasion. When the grandchildren would stay the night, she always made the best air popped popcorn and, in the morning, they would wake up to her cooking pancakes made into different characters and sausage on the griddle. Bev hosted many family holidays; Thanksgiving would be a feast and at supper time she would make her famous potato pancakes. She particularly looked forward to hosting Christmas Eve after the candlelight service where she would make homemade chicken noodle soup with butterballs and rye bread.

She is survived by her children Carla (Stan) Krueger of Weldona, Danny (Sherry) Strand of Brush and David (Andrea) Strand of Brush.Grandchildren Nathan (Kim) Krueger of Lake Placid FL, Katie (Chad) Lorenzini of Weldona, Josh (Shiloh) Strand of Brush, Ryan (Rhianna) Strand of Brush, Rachel Strand of Brush, Barry Strand of Brush, Michaela (Tony) Perez of Brush. Great Grandchildren Colton, Walker, Americo, Tenleigh, Axel, Brenden, Tate, Olivia, Abby, Aaron, Eliana and Gianna. Sister, Ardell Bruce of Brush and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Solomon Lesser, Harry (stepdad) and Esther Persons, her husband Harold Strand, and daughter Julie Strand.

A Celebration of life will be held in July.
