Obituary

Beverly Ann Watson, 87, of Fort Morgan, was called home by her heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 29, 2022.  She passed peacefully at home with family by her side.

Beverly was born in LaSalle, CO on March 3, 1935, to Jacob and Alice (Hill) Hemple.  She was the oldest of two sisters.  She would often reminisce about the old Dutch Hop dances, where her father played the accordion, and Beverly and her younger sister Audrey (Hemple) Stark would fall asleep on the dance floor chairs.

She attended Englewood High School.  She met the love of her life, Bernard L Watson in church.  On June 3, 1953, they wed in North Platte, NE.  They had five children.

One of Beverly's passions was music.  Her third-grade music teacher introduced her to the piano.  Over the years, she became a very accomplished pianist.  She had a love for gospel music and often traveled to concerts to see her favorite artists.  A highlight of her life was treating 23 family members to an Alaska Inside Passage cruise with the Booth Brothers.

Beverly was a member of the Morgan Church of the Nazarene.  For many Sundays, she was the church musician where she played the grand piano which she and Bernard donated to the church.  This piano is still in place.

Not to be outdone by her college educated children, at the age of 45 she attended Northeastern Junior College where she received a Cosmetology graduate degree with a 4.0 GPA and opened Advantage' Merle Norman in Fort Morgan, CO.  Beverly owned and operated the makeup and hair salon for 40 years.

Beverly was known to have many interesting stories to share and especially loved telling them to her grandchildren.  She earned the title of devoted daughter, loving wife, comforting mother, dedicated teacher, a true and loyal friend, and a spoiling grandma and great-grandmother.  She was so thankful and felt blessed to have the chance to know and love each and every friend as well as family members.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Bernard L Watson, parents Jake and Alice Hemple, and sister Audrey Stark.  She is survived by five children: Bernard (Deborah) Watson, Rhonda (Mike) Dilli, Candy (Gabor) Farkas, Randall (Judy) Watson, and Heidi Watson.  Eight grandchildren: Dylan (Nikki) Wiley, Caitlin Dilli, Molly (Zach) Hollon, Kassie (Lexin) Brent, Garrett (Mackenzie) Watson, Bernard Watson, Estee Dilli, Calla Dilli, and ten great grandchildren.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held at the Morgan Church of the Nazarene, 7 th and Meeker, Fort Morgan, CO 80701 on Saturday November 12 at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Bernard L Watson Memorial Endowment Fund in care of Heer Mortuary.
