William "Bill" L. Hammer, 77, former Brush resident, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Sterling Regional Med Center in Sterling, CO. He was born November 13, 1940 in Whitney, NE to William G. and Velma Hammer.

Bill married Jeannette Fetzer in Fleming, CO on June 3, 1962. Bill lived in Brush from 1953 until retiring from the US Postal Service in Brush in 1990. In 1996 Bill & Jeannette moved to Fleming, CO. While living in Brush, Bill & Jeannette were very active members of the Calvary Assembly of God.

Bill was a charter member of the Morgan County Ambulance Service. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, collecting knives, and listening and participating in music events. His favorite activity was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jeannette of Fleming, CO; 2 children, Mike of Fond du Lac, WI and Sheilah (Brian) Holder of Wellington, CO; 3 sisters, Mary Lou Hammer of Fort Morgan, Twila (Phil) Illum of Battlefield, MO, and Dianne (Kent) Moore of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren, Zachary Hammer, Nikki Hammer, Ashleigh Pickart, Trinity Hammer, Brandon Holder and Jared Holder; and 3 great grandchildren, Sebastiane, Liam, and Olivia.
