William J. Rasmussen, 62, former Brush resident, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008, in Leoti, KS. Bill was born May 23, 1946, in Williston, ND to Dewel & Norma Rasmussen. He grew up in Grenora, ND. On January 9, 1964, Bill enlisted in the US Army National Guard. He served until his discharge July 7, 1969. On April 1, 1967, he married Virginia Rogers in Williston, ND. IN 1969 the Rasmussen's moved to Brush. They lived here until earlier this year when the moved to Keoti to be closer to their daughter, Jeanette, and her family. Prior to ill health forcing his retirement, Bill drove a truck for Kula Grain Company for 15 years. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge of Morgan County. He enjoyed helping members of the VFW #3551 clean their weapons and work community service projects. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed motorcycles. He especially enjoyed going to the coffee shop to spend time with friends. Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Ginger), of Leoti; 2 daughters, Jeanette Tucke – Miller and her family, of Leoti, and Noretta Rasmussen of Jacksonville, FL; his Mother, Norma Rasmussen of Parker, CO; 1 brother, Gary Rasmussen, and his wife, Melody, of Parker; CO; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Hagen Dale Reef; and his Father. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 29, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Interment Chapel at Brush Memorial Cemetery.
