Robert L. "Bob" Wardell, June 28, 1936 – January 7, 2018, Age 81 of Brush, CO.

Bob was born in Greeley, CO to Anna (Harper) Hall and Robert Hall. Bob's first Dad died while Bob was still a toddler and a couple of years later his Mother, Anna, married Jerry Wardell, who she had known since their high school days together in Platteville. Bob grew up on what is still the Wardell ranch east of Platteville with his parents and four brothers and graduated from Platteville High School.

Bob attended Colorado A & M, now Colorado State University, and graduated with his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Agriculture Extension Education. He worked as an Agriculture Extension agent in three different Colorado counties as he started his career, but worked in Lincoln County (Hugo) for several years where he developed lifelong relationships with ranchers and farmers there. He married the love of his life, Sharon Davis Newland on July 3, 1969.

Bob later became a Realtor and along with his wife, Sharon, developed a successful business as Big Valley Realty in Morgan County from which he retired a few years ago. Bob loved to garden with Jeri and was often proud of having the first crop of sweet corn, tomatoes, onions and pumpkins.

Bob was truly a loving and loyal husband and father. He and Sharon put together their two earlier families, had one daughter together, Jeri, and Bob was a devoted father to all. He was especially awesome in his nurturing and loving of their special needs daughter, Jeri. She will miss him tremendously.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons, Ryan (Cheryl) Wardell and Tom (Catherine) Newland; daughter Jeri Wardell; brothers Jay (Laura) and Roy; sisters-in-law, Pat and Gwen Wardell; grandsons, Cole & Caleb(Jamie); great grandson, Elliott; nephews Paul (Sandy), Phil, Jason (Mindi), Jared (Angi), Josh (Corinne), Rob (Sarah) and Juan (Yariela) and nieces (Carol (Jeff) and Jan. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tami Jo, and brothers Earl and Gary.

A celebration of Bob's life will be Friday, January 12, 2018, at 10:30 AM at the Brush United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Thursday from 4 – 6 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial donations c/o the Heer Mortuary in Brush to the Brush United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, or to the "Jerry & Anna Wardell We Care Fund c/o the Community Foundation of Greeley & Weld County.
